Rugs

So I have to get a rug for my room in Texas because we are moving into an older house with all hardwood floors. Nobody wants to wake up and step on a freezing cold wood floor every morning! So I have been looking for a rug that will match my new comforter. It has many different blues and patterns in it which makes it hard to find a rug that matches. I want a bluish grey rug with not too much pattern or the room will be way too busy. I will top it off with solid pillows. Here are some of the rugs I have been looking at...

Nike

Yellow // Grey // Lime // Pink
Yellow // Teal // Mint // Black

I will admit that I don't LOVE working out, but I still do it a few times a week. I have always complained about how much I hate running, but apparently good running shoes makes a world of difference! Your legs and back won't ache like they do with bad running shoes. So I have been on the prowl for good running shoes. I am not a serious or long distant runner ( I can barely run a mile!) so I don't need the hardcore running shoes. Just some new Nike's. I really wanted some yellow shoes, but I honestly love all of these shoes. I think these and these are my favorite so far. Which ones do you like?

carry on..

I am seriously obsessed with this song. We all have our bad days, so next time you do turn this song on and you will feel a lot better! It just talks about how life will bring you challenges but you need to carry on.

If you're lost and alone
Or you're sinking like a stone
Carry on
May your past be the sound of your feet upon the ground
Carry on

Love the lyrics.

weekend reads

I am a huge sucker for a great read. When I start a good book I am not going to put that book down until I have finished it. Well, I have an amazing book for you all to read. It is a bit crazy, psychotic actually, but it definitely catches your attention! The book is Gone Girl. I started it a few days ago and read it any chance I got. I was addicted.

Without ruining anything I will give you an idea of what the book is about. So there is a woman named Amy and a man named Nick, and they meet in NYC and instantly fall in love. Amy comes from a lot of money and Nick is your average, everyday guy. Everything is perfect, until it is not anymore. They lose their jobs and have to move to Missouri to take care of Nick's parents. On their 5th year anniversary, Amy is missing. Nick doesn't have a good alibi, so everyone naturally blames the husband.  That's all I am going to say because you HAVE to read the book. This book never leaves you bored. You are constantly wanting more, especially when you get to the crazy twist in the story. Like I said though, it is a bit psychotic so be careful!

So now on to the next book I am about to start, Room. It is about a boy and his mom who live in a tiny room, where the mother has been held for seven years. I don't know much more than that, but will definitely fill you in when I am done with the book!

Happy weekend everyone!

the vampire facial

I don't know if any of you watch Kim and Kourtney take Miami, but this past Sunday they showed Kim getting a vampire facial. I have never heard of this before but it looks super painful! Here is the real question...is it worth it??

The treatment begins by applying a numbing cream to your face. Then the doctor takes 2 vials of blood from your arm. The blood is put in a centrifuge (a machine that spins the blood to separate the blood from the platelets). The platelets are put into a derma pen, which is a machine with 9 tiny needles that will be used to puncture the skin to place the platelets underneath the skin. The platelets have growth factors that will form collagen and elastic tissue to make your skin look healthier and younger. From articles I have read on the vampire facial, the numbing cream works everywhere except the forehead. Since your forehead is much bonier than the rest of your face, the needles bounce off the bone which is extremely painful. Imagine getting a tattoo on your forehead! Ouch!!

Of course since Kim Kardashian did this vampire facial, a ton of people are going to try it out now. Don't get too excited though, the treatment costs about $1,000!! Since it is a fairly new treatment, I doubt they have done enough studies to see how well it works out. Maybe one day when I am an old wrinkly PA I can try it out if it is actually the real deal. For now, I will stick to a normal facial. Although, I have been thinking about getting the Clarisonic! I have always had very sensitive skin and not the perfect complexion that I have always wanted. The Clarisonic is supposed to clean your face up to 6X better than normal cleansers and make it smoother.  It also reduces the appearance of pores which would be amazing!

I have heard pretty great reviews on the Clarisonic. What do you think?
